Corporate Fundraising

What do you really need to transform your corporate fundraising? Our Corporate Connections service can help you identify and engage with your best corporate prospects.

What do you really need to transform your corporate fundraising?

Corporate fundraising is in the spotlight but how do we make our programmes fly?

Large companies are merging, valued brands struggling and new kids on the block appearing from nowhere. What can you do to find and connect with the best prospects? How do you engage with private family companies or disruptors whose Millennial workforce may be reshaping the more traditional workplace?

Is it time to move away from “Charity of the Year” and towards a more shared value approach? Which companies might be interested in your cause?

Prospecting for Gold’s personalised Corporate Connections service

Prospecting for Gold’s corporate research and consultancy can help you answer these questions. Our Corporate Connections service is a three-step process:

Step one: Where are you? Where do you want to go?

We begin with a free meeting to understand where you are and point you in the right direction. We will provide you in advance with a questionnaire covering your previous company fundraising and connections history over the last 5 years. There is no obligation at this stage – it is up to you whether or not you want to work with us thereafter.

Step two: How to get there?

If you like what you see, our consultants can then work with you to produce a brief 10-12 page company prospect research plan. Our planning process will cover:

  • A meeting with your team (relevant staff, supporters and trustees) to review:
    • Your corporate fundraising aims; they may be more than financial
    • How much you want to raise
    • What the money will be raised for
    • Natural corporate supporters for your cause
    • Any ethical constraints
    • Data protection and other regulatory requirements
    • A detailed company research brief and guidance
    • An estimate of how many company directors are already connected to you
    • Ways to use existing donors to open doors to companies
    • Positioning corporate fundraising as part of an integrated fundraising strategy.
    • Developing your corporate fundraising skills

We then present the plan to your team and look at the next steps.

Step three: Let’s go!

If the company research plan is accepted we can offer a tailor made Corporate Connections  service to suit your needs and budget. This could include any combination of the following consulting and research services:

  • Researching the best 50 -100 company prospects
  • Advising you on drafting and testing your company fundraising proposition
  • Mapping out other company connections you may have
  • Reporting on company directors who already give to you
  • Helping you to develop a series of monthly company briefing and prospecting meetings
  • Interviewing key contacts with companies such as Directors, CSR leads, Marketing leads.
  • Developing an ethical corporate and due diligence policy
