What's in a wealth screening report
May 2021
Wondering what exactly you'll get out of a wealth screening report? Our team has put together this handy guide detailing where the information in your wealth screening report comes from, what your report will look like and explaining wealth tags, snapshots and million-pound properties.
Where the information in your report comes from
During your wealth screen, we’ll draw on information in our Wealth Intelligence Database. This database was established over 20 years ago and contains historical and published data, recorded daily, from major industry directories; online sources; newspapers; and journals. It has information on around 270,000 high net worth and well-connected individuals, categorised by their interests, these include the environment; sustainability; health and disability; medicine; children and young people; community; housing; poverty relief; the elderly; social justice; international development; education; the arts; welfare; heritage; animal welfare; military; sport; and other hobbies.
Your report will contain information that has been obtained and stored in line with GDPR requirements. Our information comes from publicly available sources such as companies house, the electoral register, company websites, rich lists, social networks, political and property registers, and news archives. We are completely transparent about our research and our privacy policy reflects this. To ensure your organisation is GDPR compliant we recommend you ensure your privacy policy fully describes the processing and if you have to update it to make it clear, you also need to let your supporters know about the update and give them the opportunity to opt-out of this processing.
What your report will look like
Once your wealth screen is complete, we’ll send you a ‘Data Summary Report’. This is a one-page summary that provides an overview of matches to our Wealth Intelligence Database, it’s broken down by the number of matches, match rate and includes a breakdown of matches by:
• Wealth band
• Age
• Constituent attributes
• Match level – individual or household (family) level
• Million Pound Properties
If you’ve requested a large scale wealth screen (database over 50,000 or over 2,000 matches) we’ll often advise you to also get a ‘Preliminary Match Report’. This provides a count of individual and household matches by:
• Wealth band
• Geography (Region)
• Age band
• Constituent attributes in the Wealth Intelligence Database
• Client variables
• Million Pound Property matches
Wealth tags, Snapshots and Million Pound Properties
We use a ‘Wealth Tag’ to provide basic information on individual supporters that have been matched in our Wealth Screening. These include:
• Name
• Address (address supplied by you)
• Match level – individual or household (family) level
• Supporter ID
• Any other variables from the supplied data
If you’re interested in more information, we provide ‘Snapshots’ with further details on your individual supporters that have been matched in our Wealth Screening. They contain details of all the attributes held for each record. Details include:
• Name
• Address (address supplied by you)
• Match level – individual or household (family) level
• Supporter ID
• Wealth band and other constituent attributes (e.g. Donor, PLC Director)
For some people, we can only provide Million Pound Property tags. This will allow you to find out which of your supporters live in properties with a current value of £1million or more, based upon a known sale price and published property price indices.
