Five trusts supporting men’s health in the UK

To support men’s health month, we’re looking at five trusts and foundations supporting the cause in the UK.

This year, Men’s Health Week runs from Monday the 10th to the 16th of June. Organised by the Men’s Health Forum, the initiative is designed to raise awareness of men’s health and encourage all men to seek help to address any health concerns they may be experiencing.

The Forum encourages its supporters to start the conversation within their own organisations and networks. And with one in five men dying before the age of 65, it’s time we all started talking.

To support this incredible campaign, we’re looking at five trusts and foundations supporting men’s health in the UK.

Movember Foundation

We couldn’t start this list without spotlighting the Movember Foundation. Started by two friends in Australia over 20 years ago, the foundation has since funded over 1,320 men’s health projects around the world.

The Foundation has recently funded Togetherall, Farmstrong, and TrueNTH.

    Bally’s Foundation

The main aim of Bally’s Foundation (previously known as The Gamesys Foundation) is to preserve and protect the wellbeing of individuals suffering from mental health issues through grant-making.

They’ve previously funded CALM and Mental Health Innovations.

      Arnold Clark Community Fund

The Arnold Clark Community Fund helps charities build stronger communities across the UK. Since its launch in 2021, the fund has supported over 20,000 organisations and is currently funding the cost of living and community support.

In 2021, the community fund supported The Blue Ribbon Foundation, which promotes health and wellbeing for men.

        Pears Foundation

Pears Foundation funds a range of charitable organisations, providing core funding and offering more than money through its organisational and leadership development programmes. Since its establishment, it has awarded more than £450 million in grants.

In 2022, the foundation awarded Men’s Sheds £50,000 in core funding.

          The Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation is funded entirely by Freemasons. Its aim is to build better lives by encouraging opportunity, promoting independence, and improving well-being. Its current priorities include early years, SEND, domestic abuse, and dementia.

In 2021, the Foundation awarded men’s suicide prevention charity Andy’s Man Club £25,000.

Our team provides research, wealth screening, consultancy, regulatory compliance and training support to charities of all sizes, making fundraising more effective and successful.
